Canon PowerShot SD790 IS Digital CameraThere have already been thousands of available digital cameras today. But only several can be considered to match the quality of a truly reliable manufacturing company like Canon. This company has already made quite a distinctive mark in the digital photography arena.

The Canon PowerShot SD790 IS Digital Camera, one of the company’s latest offers, is a proud member of the popular digital Elphs series.

Convenient for the Everyday user

The solid, boxlike design of the Canon Powershot SD790 is charmingly reminiscent of its Elphs brethren. Well-defined corners and accents of a contrasting color are appealing and provide easy handling and use.

Canon PowerShot SD790 IS Digital CameraThe flat key control panel is both functional and stylish as it gives the camera a seamless appearance. The SD790’s lens has a 6.2mm-to-18.6mm range (35mm film equivalent: 35mm to 105mm).

In addition to the 3x optical zoom lenses with image stabilizer (IS), this camera features enhanced auto focus performance for low-light shooting. Motion Detection Technology works along with IS to reduce all kinds of blur. When shooting in high ISO mode, the camera will automatically detect motion and adjust ISO and exposure settings to accommodate the shake. Clear-looking shots at high ISO settings are consistently produced.

This compact wonder produces images as sharp and well-defined as its distinctive appearance. Canon’s UA (Ultra-high refractive index Aspherical) lens elements create impressive images in every click. The lens has a straight optical path for image quality that will make you want to snap more shots. The AF is now able to achieve focus in 1 stop less light, so the camera obtains excellent results even further into the evening.

Meanwhile, Face Detection Technology creates accurate, natural-looking people shots in all situations. Red-Eye Correction draws on Face Detection Technology so you can reduce, if not eliminate, red-eye from photographs. If a face is detected in a shot, red-eye is checked and removed automatically while shooting or in playback mode. New AF Point Zoom allows the photographer to magnify the AF frame so that facial expressions can be checked before shooting.

The white-balance mode also works automatically and makes the camera to focus on a subject’s face and produce higher-quality portraits. Along with 11 other scene modes, the SD790 even adds a sunset scene mode so you can capture a perfect shot of the sun going down.

The bright PureColor LCD II screen occupying the back of the camera is 3” big. You will love snapping pictures and looking at them because of the wide viewing angle, high contrast easy-view displays, and glare-resistant coatings. Images have noticeably vibrant colors and near-perfect contrast, thanks to the aforementioned technologies and 10.0 effective Megapixel CCD.

All these features, plus several more, make the Canon PowerShot SD790 IS Digital Camera an intuitive, enjoyable point-and-shoot. You’ll experience the quality and performance only a Canon camera can provide.
