CompUSA reopens Texas stores (Dallas Business Journal)
CompUSA stores in Plano, El Paso and McAllen are reopening their doors on Friday.
The stores are among 16 CompUSA stores that have been refurbished and restocked by Systemax Inc. (NYSE: SYX), which bought the Dallas-based consumer electronics chain in January. The other stores are in Florida and Puerto Rico.
Systemax said the reopened stores have an “improved product mix among PC components and upgrades as well as consumer electronics, new lower pricing in every department and renewed emphasis on customer satisfaction.”
The stores will host grand reopening events for four weeks beginning April 18 that will include hourly deals, limited free giveaways, a computer building contest with a grand prize of a 32-inch Toshiba LCD television and other activities.
