El Paso CompUSA Grand Opening (El Paso Times)
Grand re-opening: El Pasos CompUSA store, 9521 Viscount, which reopened March 24, will celebrate its grand re-opening at 7 a.m. Friday, the company announced. The El Paso store was one of 16 CompUSA stores purchased by New York-based Systemax Inc. and reopened.
The store employs about 35 people, most of whom worked for CompUSA under its previous owner. Dallas-based Comp-USAs chain of about 100 stores was originally slated for liquidation and closure by the end of the year. Festivities will continue Saturday with “hourly deals” while a Great CompUSA PC Race will be May 3-4. Competitors will race to be the quickest to build a computer. The grand prize is a 32-inch Toshiba LCD TV.
