Prank Caller Trys Add To Cart - From The Catalog?
Catalogs - you know, those paper things that you read when you are bored waiting for an appointment, a date or while trying to get in the mood to go to sleep at night. They often inspire desire and lust for the latest technology products and sometimes make you jump up and order something before you miss out! CompUSA has begun mailing catalogs to our customers featuring the thousands of products for your review.
If you didn’t get the opportunity to review one of our catalogs yet, feel free to click here to signup for a shiny new CompUSA catalog, but if you have seen one - you will notice that our layout and design has many ‘web like‘ elements, including ‘Add to Cart’ buttons, similar to those found on CompUSA.com. Well, someone decided that the buttons could be an interesting source of entertainment and called us. We discovered the transcript of the call on the prank caller’s LiveJournal, and actually found it funny - and want to share it with you.
CompUSA Catalog Query
Tech: Hello, thanks for calling CompUSA.
Me: Hi, I’m having a problem with the catalog?
Tech: Yeah, sure. What can I do for you?
Me: Okay, well. I have the catalog open to the page I want, and I see this item and this thing that says ‘add to cart.’ So I opened the website so I could check that it goes into my cart and I’ve been pressing the button, but it’s not doing anything.
Tech: You just… click it.
Me: Well I don’t quite understand, it seems to be printed on paper.
Tech: I don’t… okay, what are you trying to do?
Me: I want to buy this item, and I’m pressing the button to add to cart…
Tech: Where’s the button?
Me: In the printed catalog. Why doesn’t it work?
Tech: Because it’s a catalog. They don’t do that.
Me: Then why is it in there?
Tech: So you can add to… I don’t know. Do you want a sales person?
Me: Sure.
While we can’t condone prank calling - everyone must admit this is pretty funny.
