Action Thrill? Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Let’s get the dice rolling: missing out on Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a big sin. This game shines as bright as the brightest neon lights in Sin City.
The action rarely dips and it easily ranks as one of the best first-person shooters today. Because the competition in this particular genre is so stiff, it only highlights the fact that this is one well-made action-packed game.
Conquer Several Challenging Missions
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 moves away from foreign war-torn lands, far away planets, and dark alternate realities to give way to a setting that’s closer to home. It takes place in a famous little fun-town in the West Coast we endearingly call Sin City.
In this game, however, there will be no time for you to spin wheels, roll dices, spend some quality time with slot machines or play poker games. The game doesn’t know how to bluff; it delivers shoot-outs and bomb blasts with ferocity and finesse.
The visuals in the game are simply stunning. In fact, once you see the beautifully rendered buildings, the city landscapes, and the sun shining high and mighty, you’ll feel like you want to visit this digital Vegas as much as the real one. Every explosion, every gun shot, as well as every character, is rendered with a painstaking amount of detail. Likewise, the game sounds just as good as it looks. It captures the Vegas feel in the sense that the game environments feel extremely lifelike. The same could be said for the terrorist opponents, who can and will kill you, given the smallest of openings. Oh, and when it’s your chance to fire, please try not to hit the civilians scurrying about and who are just trying to avoid the crossfire.
Before going through the missions, you’ll start by modifying how your character will look like.
After that point, it’s all out tactical action with two other AI-controlled buddies. Hiding behind buildings while waiting for the opportune time for your team to strike back hard and fast feels satisfying the whole game through. And with numerous weapons and equip to choose from, it’s all up to you how you want to approach a particular mission. To win this game, you need to use brawn and brains. It’s called a tactical shooter for a reason. If you don’t plan to use smart tactics, then you might as well give up already. The game’s AI is remarkably cunning. Don’t be tempted to use the run button indiscriminately because doing so will only lead to your character being killed by someone who’s more patient.
If you’re itching for more action after you’ve finished the campaigns, then head on over to multiplayer. You can either play cooperatively to go through the campaigns again, or play against one another to wage intense firefights in the city. The game, simply put, never fails to be exciting.
The intense battles and gorgeous visuals of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will make you feel like you’ve just won a million dollars. Don’t waste the chance to get this ace for that itchy trigger finger of yours.
