In-Store Return Policy
NOTE: ALL RETURNS ARE CAREFULLY INSPECTED AND TESTED.
All returns must comply with our published INSPECTION CRITERIA. A determination will be made if eligibility requirements are met for credit, exchange or repair. Please be sure to follow these guidelines to avoid denial of your return.
Returning a DEFECTIVE ITEM: Unless otherwise specified, we gladly accept DEFECTIVE EXCHANGES on products within 30 days of original receipt date. CompUSA Store shall have sole discretion as to the credit method. We may issue a credit, replace the product, or we may repair the item.
Manufacturer Restrictions: Some manufacturers have implemented returns restrictions that prevent CompUSA Store from being able to accept returns or offer exchanges, replacements or credits on their products. Open products from manufacturers or suppliers such as Sony, Compaq, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Toshiba, Epson and others are not returnable to CompUSA Outlet Stores FOR ANY REASON. All support as well as exchanges or replacements for DEFECTIVE merchandise, including within the first 30 days of ownership, must be handled directly with the product manufacturer. CompUSA Outlet Store cannot accept any returns nor offer exchanges or credit for ANY product missing the UPC code. Only the product manufacturer can replace any DEFECTIVE item missing the UPC sticker.
Non-Defective Returns: Returns of NON-DEFECTIVE items that are returnable by the CompUSA Store to product manufacturers may, at CompUSA Store’s sole discretion, be accepted for return. NON-DEFECTIVE RETURNS MAY BE SUBJECT TO A RESTOCKING FEE UP TO 25% and such returns will be for store credit or refund at CompUSA Store’s sole discretion within 30 days of original receipt date. Please ask us if you have questions about which products are returnable, which products may be subject to a restocking fee or for an explanation of circumstances under which a restocking fee may be charged.
Software And Consumables: OPEN SOFTWARE AND CONSUMABLES (TONER CARTRIDGES, INK CARTRIDGES, PHOTO PAPER, DIGITAL MEDIA ETC.) ARE NOT RETURNABLE. SEALED OR OPEN OEM SOFTWARE IS ABSOLUTLY NOT RETURNABLE.
Liquidation and Clearance Product Returns: Unless otherwise specified, we only accept DEFECTIVE EXCHANGES on clearance products within 7 days of original receipt date. CompUSA Store shall have sole discretion as to the credit method. We may issue a credit, replace the product, or we may repair the item. Please note that clearance products are sold without a manufacture’s warranty. The CompUSA Store accepts no responsibility for the products operation, warranty and/or support. We do not accept returns on liquidation and clearance products due to incompatibility, buyer remorse or any other reason.
Rebates: Products offering mail-in-rebates are non-returnable to CompUSA Store once the rebates have been filed for. Be sure that the product is working and that you intend to keep the product before filing for rebates. Products missing UPC codes from the box are also NOT returnable and will be REJECTED or subject to a restocking fee. If you have any questions please ask us before removing the UPC code from your product. Rebate coupon redemptions are limited to ONE PER ADDRESS only, unless otherwise noted. Other limitations may apply. Please read rebate terms & conditions for details.
CPU Warranty Policy: New OEM CPU’s have a 12-month limited warranty. The CompUSA Store provides this warranty. Please note that all processors may be returned only for defective exchange. You must purchase a compatible heatsink and fan on the same order as the processor in order to preserve your warranty or exchange privilege. We do not issue refunds for processor returns under any circumstances. All processors will be inspected and tested upon return and any damage caused by rough handling, overclocking, or other tampering with the processor will be cause for the return to be refused, and exchange denied. Your original receipt is required to honor the warranty.

ALL products being returned must be 100% complete and must be packaged in ORIGINAL PACKAGING. All packing materials, manuals, diskettes, CDs, digital media, blank warranty cards and other accessories and documentation must be included in the original packaging, as provided by the manufacturer. A return will not be given, or restocking fee may be charged in the event ANY item(s) included in the original package is not present in the returned package. CompUSA Store’s return policy will NOT BE HONORED in the event that a return is brought to us improperly packaged, incomplete, altered or physically damaged. ALL RETURNS ARE CAREFULLY INSPECTED AND TESTED AT OUR DISCRETION. Any discrepancies will result in denial of credit or replacement.
The following criteria will be followed in rejecting returns and refusing credit:
* Products which are missing the box, packing material, manuals, or other accessories
* Packages affixed with counterfeit label(s) or affixed with labels exhibiting tampering
* Products with any standard certification labels removed (UL listing, capacity, brand name)
* Products or packages with barcode label removed
* Products with SERIAL NUMBER that does not match SERIAL NUMBER on package
* DAMAGE: Cracked components or damage to any circuit boards
* DAMAGE: Any dents, scratches, defacement or abuse of base casting
* DAMAGE: Torn or punctured tape seals
* DAMAGE: Loose, damaged or removed screws/fasteners.
* Product Categories: CPU’s, notebooks and other items so labeled with a security seal will not be accepted for return.
* Product Manufactures: Products from certain manufactures are not returnable once opened some examples are Sony, Compaq, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Toshiba, and Epson.
Legal Notices
Price Protection Policy: At point of sale we will match any national advertised printed mass circulation prices on identical in-stock items/offers. Just show us the published price, and we’ll match it with a CompUSA Store credit good for anything else we sell. Vendor below-cost or special price promos, and offers involving mail in rebates are excluded. Due to fluctuation in the industry, prices on CPU, memory and products or bundles including CPU and memory are subject to change and we do not offer price protection on these items in the event prices rise or fall.
Typographical Errors: In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to a typographical error or any other error in pricing or product information, CompUSA Store shall have the right to refuse any purchase for product listed at the incorrect price.
Limitation of Liability: In no event shall CompUSA Store or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages including but not limited to loss of use, loss of data, loss of business or profits. Some localities do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
Warranty Limitations: There are no other express warranties or conditions respecting the equipment. Implied warranties, if any, are limited to the duration of the express warranty provided herein. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts so the foregoing limitation may not apply to you. (Posted 4/7/08)
